Just when I start to think [insert any variety of self-depricating words that aren’t true] my friend Heather posts this on Facebook: value relationships above results. It was as if I was hit over the head with a hammer.
As a business owner it is important to understand the mission, vision and values of your business. This means truly understanding why you’ve chosen the path of business ownership. In my case, I was kicked out of the corporate world and had no choice but to make something work whether it was in a traditional job or starting my own gig. I chose, through a series of conversations and events, to become a freelance writer.
The Values of McAuley Freelance Writing are integrity, client focus, trustworthiness and accountability. I operate with high levels of integrity in all that I do personally and professionally. I don’t make rash decisions or take on projects that are not suited to how my business is designed; it’s one of my favorite things about being a business owner.
