After I posted How to Tell if Your Weekend was Epic my friend commented about posting something as revealing as this on my professional blog. It was written in good fun and reflects my personality. The comment still took me aback.
Then I realized controversy is great for blog readership.
I wonder who else will comment that the post isn’t professional blog worthy. Or worse – who will think it and never say a word?
I am slowly learning who is reading my blog. There are a lot of you reading, taking mental notes and never breathing a word to me. There are others who let things slip in conversation so I know you’ve read at least one specific post or two.
The doofus post is a pretty telling sign of my readership.
You’re using doofus in conversation. You’re smiling and laughing when I use the word doofus in conversation. You’re giving me the knowing look when I mention a topic, doofus or otherwise, on which I have blogged.
That’s the secret.
My readers reveal more to me than what I reveal to you on the blog. There’s always more to the story – whether it’s mine or yours.
